World Book Day in P7
Thursday 1st March was World book day and the P7 children celebrated in style.
Everyone dressed up as a their favourite character from a book and we had a wide range of characters represented. We had everyone from the Boy in the dress to The Trunchbull!
The P7 children worked with our Stranmillis student, Miss Turtle, to encounter the story "Denver" by David McKee. This was the book that the whole school was learning about on world book day. Our task was to think of the message behind the story and to then write our own parables/fables with a clear meaning. The children typed these stories up and presented them to the class later on.
We also used the C2K News Desk website where children from across Northern Ireland presented their favourite book characters and why they loved them. The children then had the opportunity to vote for their favourite.
All in all a fantastic and engaging literacy day had by all P7 children who left inspired with a passion for books and literature!
