Remembrance at Carniny
Carniny commemorated 100 years since the end of WW1 by hosting an art competition and a Remembrance Service.
Each class created pieces of work related to Remembrance. These were displayed in the assembly hall and parents were invited to view the art work, enjoyed a cup of tea and were able to make donations towards the poppy appeal.
£117 was raised and we thank you for your generous donations!
At 11am we held a Remembrance Service. Mr Sommerville informed the boys and girls about the importance of Remembrance. We held a minutes silence and Mrs McCombe played the Last Post.
Local Army Veteran ‘Fletch’ kindly judged our art work, told us about why Remembrance is important to him and presented certificates to our art winners.
’We will Remember.’
