We have been very busy in P1 over the past few weeks. We have been looking at 4 early concepts in Numeracy.
Classifying
We have been sorting lots of objects. We have been looking at how to sort a range of objects eg by colour, size, type and even with criteria such as animals with 4 legs.
Matching
We have been matching objects that are identical eg pairs of socks. We have also matched objects that are related eg knives and forks.
Comparing
We have compared objects without counting things and using language such as more than or fewer. We have also compared objects of different sizes.
Ordering
We have been ordering objects from biggest to smallest/smallest to biggest and tallest to shortest/ shortest to tallest.
